The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to inform that Ambassador Dr Olufemi Olusegun Pedro, the High Commissioner of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Commonwealth of Australia, presented his credentials to the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia on Tuesday 23rd June, 2026. The presentation ceremony took place at the Government House in Canberra at 9:45 am. The High Commissioner was accompanied by the officials of the High Commission, including Mr Abba Mustapha, Minister Counsellor; Mr Paul C., First Secretary; and Mrs Aminat Adeola, First Secretary/HOc. On arrival at Government House, the High Commissioner mounted the guard of honour, and thereafter he was ushered into the room where the Governor-General, Her Excellency The Honourable Sam Mostyn AC, received the credentials. The High Commissioner had the opportunity to discuss bilateral matters with the Governor-General after the presentation. He called on Australia to establish the Nigeria-Australia Business Council to boost trade between the two countries. He also called for collaboration in vocational education.
