The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, welcomes Nigeria’s first ever Vice President of the ECOWAS Commission, H.E Anthony Oluwatosin Ogunjimi to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja.
He has only just assumed office but has hit the ground running.
His first mission was to visit officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Contingent in Gambia ( ECOWAS mission) to boost their morale and offer invaluable support towards improving the welfare and living conditions of our troops, including the provision of 14 air-conditioning units, reconstruction of toilet facilities, improvement of temporary soldiers’ accommodation, construction/rehabilitation of sentry posts, and installation of ceilings in some soldiers’ accommodation.
The ministry looks forward to working with the ECOWAS to advance the shared ambitions and mutual interests of member states and deliver tangible results for our community.
Congratulations to His Excellency. May his tenure be a dynamic and fruitful one.
