The Acting High Commissioner of Nigeria to the United Kingdom, Amb. Mohammed Maidugu represented Nigeria at the inaugural Commonwealth Peace Prize awarded to Rev. Dr. James Movel Wuye and Imam Dr. Muhammad Nurayn Ashafa. The event took place as part of the celebrations for the annual Commonwealth Day, 10 March, 2025. King Charles III was in attendance.
The feat marks a significant milestone for Nigeria as the duo were the first to win the inaugural award.
