Nwaobiala, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Republic of C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire, has formally presented his Letters of Credence to H.E. Alassane Ouattara, President of the Republic of C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire, at a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Abidjan on 18th June 2026. Accompanied by his wife, Lady Chidinma Nwaobiala, the presentation of the Letters of Credence marked the official commencement of Ambassador Nwaobiala&#8217;s diplomatic assignment in C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire following his appointment by H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>During the ceremony, Amb. Nwaobiala conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu to President Ouattara and the people of C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire. He reaffirmed Nigeria&#8217;s commitment to further strengthening the longstanding bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.<\/p>\n<p>President Ouattara welcomed the Nigerian Ambassador and reiterated the importance of the cordial relations existing between C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire and Nigeria. He expressed readiness to work closely with the Ambassador towards deepening bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, particularly within the framework of regional integration and economic development.<\/p>\n<p>The ceremony underscored the excellent relations between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Republic of C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire and reaffirmed both countries&#8217; shared commitment to promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in West Africa.<\/p>\n<p>At a reception in his honour with members of the Nigerian Community, Amb. Nwabiala highlighted that Nigeria and C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire are bound not only by geography, but by history, shared aspirations and an unwavering commitment to the ideals of African unity and prosperity.
