{"id":253256,"date":"2026-05-19T18:49:10","date_gmt":"2026-05-19T18:49:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/foreignaffairs.gov.ng\/news\/?p=253256"},"modified":"2026-05-21T13:02:50","modified_gmt":"2026-05-21T13:02:50","slug":"ministry-of-foreign-affairs-hosts-delegation-from-national-defence-college-of-ugandan-peoples-defence-forces","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/foreignaffairs.gov.ng\/news\/ministry-of-foreign-affairs-hosts-delegation-from-national-defence-college-of-ugandan-peoples-defence-forces\/","title":{"rendered":"Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosts Delegation from National Defence College of Ugandan Peoples&#8217;&hellip;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"xdj266r x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja, on Tuesday, 19th May 2026, hosted a delegation from the National Defence College of the Ugandan Peoples\u2019 Defence Forces (UPDF) as part of their study tour to Nigeria.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The visit underscores bilateral cooperation between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Republic of Uganda in the areas of defence cooperation, regional peace, security, and institutional capacity development.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Ugandan delegation was received by senior officials of the Ministry led by Ambassador Musa Sani Nuhu, Director, Policy Research and Statistics Department (PRS), Ambassador Ali Gombe, mni, Director, African Affairs Department, and Brigadier General Lawal Idris, Defence Liaison Officer, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, alongside other officials of the Ministry.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Speaking on behalf of the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Ambassador Musa Sani Nuhu welcomed the delegation and described the visit as a reflection of the enduring friendship and strategic partnership between Nigeria and Uganda.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He further conveyed the Government of Nigeria\u2019s condolences and solidarity to the Governments and peoples of the Republic of Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo over the recent Ebola outbreak which reportedly claimed over 130 lives, while praying for the repose of the departed souls, speedy recovery of affected persons, and comfort for bereaved families.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">In his remarks, Ambassador Ali Gombe, Director, African Affairs Department in the Ministry, warmly welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed Nigeria\u2019s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Uganda.
