The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, received in audience the Ambassador of the People\u2019s Republic of China to Nigeria, His Excellency Yu Dunhai, on Wednesday, 3rd December 2025. The meeting discussed advancing Nigeria\u2013China strategic cooperation as both sides reviewed ongoing bilateral relations and exchanged views on global and regional developments. The Chinese Ambassador commended Nigeria\u2019s leadership role in West Africa and aligned with the Minister\u2019s concerns regarding the mischaracterisation of regional crises, reaffirming China\u2019s support for Nigeria\u2019s security, stability, and sovereignty.<\/p>\n
The meeting also discussed expanded areas of cooperation, including industrialisation, exploration, and processing of rare earth and critical minerals, technology transfer, migration, and capacity-building initiatives, among others. Both parties further examined China\u2019s proposed \u201cprocess solutions,\u201d prospective investment partnerships, and opportunities for collaboration in the energy, manufacturing, and economic transformation sectors.<\/p>\n
The meeting also agreed that the bilateral agreements currently under review are essential for unlocking these opportunities and reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening Nigeria\u2013China cooperation for the mutual benefit of the people of both countries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
