The RPD aims to reinforce democracy as a driver of stability, inclusion, and sustainable development, reflecting a shared commitment by Nigeria, UNDP, and West African Member States to build institutions that are accountable, transparent, and citizen-centred.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">In his remarks, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, OON, Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, reaffirmed Nigeria\u2019s leadership in advancing democratic renewal across the continent: \u201cThe Regional Partnership for Democracy is about restoring confidence in governance and proving that democracy can deliver. This initiative provides a platform for Africa to define and defend its democratic values, anchored on inclusion, participation and good governance. Nigeria is proud to lead this regional collaboration that not only strengthens institutions but ensures that democracy reflects the voices and aspirations of our people.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Ms. Elsie G. Attafuah, UNDP Resident Representative in Nigeria, lauded the partnership as a forward-looking step toward rebuilding democratic legitimacy and governance innovation across West Africa: \u201cThe RPD is a response to the realities of our time. It brings together governments, civil society, and citizens to make democracy more inclusive, participatory, and resilient.
