The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf M. Tuggar (OON) received in audience, a delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia led by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs H.E. Mr Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar emphasized the shared heritage between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia, especially with regards to Nigerians who have lived in Saudi Arabia for centuries. This he said is pivotal to the 4-Ds foreign policy strategy of the Ministry, whereby the Nigerian Government is keen on harnessing the potential of its diaspora communities.
The visiting Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, acknowledged the close ties that have existed between the two countries for several centuries, and noted the strong bilateral cooperation in various fields ranging from the fight against terrorism, to cultural exchanges and educational support.
He also used the occasion to seek Nigeria’s support for Saudi Arabia’s bid to host Expo 2030, alongside securing the hosting rights of FIFA World Cup in 2034.
On the delegation of the visiting Minister of State, was the Director in his office, Amb. Khaleed M.M. Alangari, and Amb. Faisal Alghamdi, Saudi Ambassador to Nigeria, amongst other officials.
