Air Marshal Bala Hassan Abubakar led a delegation from the Nigerian Air Force to Lusaka, Zambia.

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Bala Hassan Abubakar led a delegation from the Nigerian Air Force to Lusaka, Zambia to attend the 14th African Air Chiefs Symposium (AACS) from 17th to 21st February, 2025 with the theme “collaboration and operational excellence: enhancing the effectiveness of the Association of African Air Forces (AAAF)”.
The Symposium was hosted by the Zambian Air Force (ZAF) under the leadership of Lt. Gen. Oscar Nyoni with Gen. James Hecker, the Commander of the United States Air Forces in Europe-Air Forces Africa (USAFE – AFAFRICA) as the co-host. It focused on the importance of collective action, exchange of knowledge of strengthening of military aviation across the Continent.
AM Abubakar is the current Chairman of the Association of African Air Forces (AAAF) and in custody of the Association’s flag, which was handed over to him at the closing ceremony of the event by his predecessor, Lt. Gen. Oscar Nyoni. In this regard, Nigeria will be hosting the 15th African Air Chiefs Symposium in Abuja in 2026.
Subsequently, the Chief of Air Staff AM H. B. Abubakar visited the High Commission of Nigeria in Lusaka, in the company of the Defence Attache, Commodore B. I. Yahuza and his Deputy, Abioye resident in Luanda, Angola with Concurrent Accreditation to Zambia and Namibia. He signed the visitors register and thanked the CDA a.i, Mrs. Chinyere Epelle and members of Staff for the warm reception and support accorded to him and his team throughout their stay in Lusaka, Zambia.
