The Hon. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf M. Tuggar (OON) played host to Her Excellency, Ms. Catherine Colonna, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic and her delegation during the bilateral talks held today, 3rd November, 2023.
Discussions centred on strengthening cooperation in the areas of culture and creative art, digital technology, job creation, restitution of loots, and education as well as cooperation at the multilateral level.
After the bilateral talks, the Hon. Minister of Foreign Affairs received the visit of the Minister of Finance & Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Chief Adebayo Olawale Edun as they both watched the Minister of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani and the visiting French Foreign Minister witness to the I-DICE Financial Agreement between the French Agency For Development and the Federal Ministry of Finance.
The visiting French Foreign Minister is in Nigeria at the invitation of His Excellency Kashim Shettima (GCON), Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to discuss and strengthen partnership within the framework of the Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises ( I- DICE) Agreement.
The I-DICE program is an initiative of the Federal Government of Nigeria, aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and innovation in digital technology and creative industry sectors. The focus is on job creation for the youths, which would ultimately contribute to the development of the Nigerian economy.
