Nigeria’s relations with Cameroon also received a boost in the last one year, underscoring the historical, social, cultural and economic ties between the two countries. As with the other countries with which Nigeria share common borders such as Benin Republic, the volume and frequency of trade in goods and services continued to expand during the year. Cameroun is home to an estimated four million Nigerians which have continued to boost bilateral trade, commercial and cultural ties between the two countries. The Nigeria-Cameroun Mixed Commission set up for the peaceful implementation of the ICJ judgment continued to undertake its onerous assignment, thereby enhancing peaceful relations between the two countries.

          Several bilateral agreements were signed in the last one year as follows:

  1. Agreement on Sports and Physical Education;
  2. Agreement on Electricity Interconnection and
  3. Trans-border Security Patrol.
